Seeing a child in your care that is hurting inside can be very distressing and upsetting for those closest to your child who wish only to support them. Your child may be finding it very difficult to express their feelings verbally- he/she may appear withdrawn or show low concentration, he/she may present poor relationships with family members. Whatever the worrying behaviour is, it can lead to a great deal of pressure upon a family as whole.
Play Therapy supports not only your child but you as well- helping you to support your child. This can strengthen communication and improve relationships.
I am Sue, an Accredited Play Therapist. I am an expert in children’s use of play to facilitate communication, helping them to grow more confident to access and cope with their feelings and thought. I believe that children naturally want to do well in all aspects of their life and I believe that, some times, something interferes with that process. I can help a child work through and make sense of their muddles and worries in the safety of the playroom.
I am passionate about strengthening relationships between a child who is struggling to cope and those who want to help and support the child.
Play Therapy benefits children from the ages of 4-14 years who:
have low confidence/ self esteem
display withdrawn behaviour
display low concentration
have suffered as a result of divorced/ separated parents
